What We Believe

One Step at a Time

WE BELIEVE that the BIBLE is GOD’s written revelation to man, it is verbally inspired in every word and absolutely inerrant in the original documents.  We affirm the infallibility, sufficiency and the authority of the Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Corinthians 2:7-14; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

WE BELIEVE that there is but one living and true GOD, (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-7; 1 Corinthians 8:4) an infinite, unchangeable, all-knowing, all-powerful, present everywhere, perfect in all attributes, one in essence, eternally existing in three Persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each equally deserving worship and obedience. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13;14).

WE BELIEVE the DEITY of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23-25; Luke 1:26-30).  His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21), His vicarious and atoning death through His blood (John 10:15; Romans 3:24-25; 5:8; 1 Peter 2:24), His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and his personal return in power and glory.

WE BELIEVE that the salvation of man, who is sinful and lost (Romans 3:23) is accomplished solely by the power of the Holy Spirit through the instrumentality of the Word of God (Titus 3:5-6) when the repentant sinner enabled by the Holy Spirit responds in faith.  The salvation is wholly of God, (2 Corinthians 5:18) by grace based not on human merit or works (Ephesians 2:8-9).  All the true believers in Christ are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever (Jude 1:24).

WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit is the supernatural and sovereign Agent in regeneration and He baptizes all believer into the Body of Christ, at the moment of salvation (1 Corinthians 12:13). The Holy Spirit also in dwells (Romans 8:9), sanctifies, instruct, empowers believers to serve (2 Corinthians 3:6), and seals them unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13-14).

WE BELIEVE the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved.  The saved unto the resurrection of life and the unsaved unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).

WE BELIEVE that all who put their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one unified spiritual body, the Church, of which Christ is the head (Ephesians 5:23).

The purpose of the church is to glorify GOD by building its members up in the faith, by instruction of the Word, by fellowship, by keeping the ordinances and advancing and proclaiming the gospel to the entire world.  The formation of the Church, the Body of Christ, begins of the Day of Pentecost and will be completed at the coming of Jesus Christ for His own at the rapture (1 Corinthians 15:51-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
